Memorials on Memorials on Memorials

The western half of the National Mall is covered in memorials to presidents, soldiers, and civil rights leaders. The peaceful, tree-lined sidewalks that lead to these memorials make this my favorite park in DC.

Rock Creek Park

The country's third park established in the National Park system, these woods have been set aside as a refuge for the ladder-climbers of DC since 1875. I decided to spend a pleasant day hiking around the hills. Or, at least, that was the plan. I emerged  from the park an hour later covered in scratches that were absolutely not acquired during a hike.

The Center of the World

There is no denying it, Washington DC is one of the most important cities on the planet. Here are some serious and not-so-serious examples as to the fall-out of this prominence.
