Minnesota is one of the coldest inhabited places in the world, but that doesn't stop locals from taking full advantage of their beautiful surroundings!

Pine forests, dramatic cliffs, and lighthouses dot the Minnesota shoreline of the world's largest lake (by area). Beginning in Duluth and continuing 150 miles (241 km) north to the Canadian border, the beautiful scenery, state parks, and small towns along the way are enough to prove why this one of the Midwest's most popular destinations.

In south-central Minnesota, you'll find an old one-room schoolhouse that has been converted into a restaurant. Add in the family-owned aspect and the charming mercantile, and you've got a perfect lunch spot!
