The Dead (and Getting Deader) Sea

The solid salt cubes that can be found in the smooth mud base are indicative of just how much salt is in this water, which famously allows for visitors to float. Add in a nearby spring-filled oasis (full of naked hippies) and you've got the perfect afternoon. The Dead Sea is a geographical treasure, but unfortunately the water practices of the sea's two neighboring countries are severely diminishing its health.
